G's España SL

G’s España SL was established in Spain in 1985 in the Region of Murcia, on the Costa Calida of South-East Spain.

We currently farm 1,100ha of land on a range of soils from heavy clay to loamy sand, growing celery, Iceberg, Romaine and Little Gem lettuces and broccoli. We supply the UK market from October to June.

Our Spanish business began in a town called Fortuna in Murcia. In 1985, our first year, we farmed 25 ha of iceberg and some celery trials. At the end of this first year we had sent 12 lorry loads of produce to the UK. We currently beat this mark every day!

The farms have increased in size considerably over the years. We have spread out from Fortuna across the Region of Murcia into neighbouring Andalucía, always in search of the right climate, land and water availability for the different times of the season.

We now have two major growing areas in Campo de Cartagena and Aguilas. We also grow in Jumilla, at higher altitudes and with a cooler climate, at the beginning and the end of the season.

Our cold chain and storage facilities, together with our main offices, are based in Torre Pacheco (Murcia).

Conscious of the environment and the area we farm in, we use the most efficient irrigation equipment in order to preserve such a valuable natural resource. Along with this, we have made big investments in reservoirs to increase our storage capacity.

Our whole farm biodiversity plan has evolved around increasing the amount of native plant species present on our farms and carefully preserving the existing areas of interest.

We are certified In GlobalGAP, Tesco Nurture, Field to Fork, LEAF marque, BRC, IFS and ISO14001.
