K.J. & R.J. Shropshire

Keith Shropshire and his son Richard run the family farm outside Wolverhampton.

In the 2011 season they grew 60 acres of organic beetroot in a rotation with organic potatoes, organic leeks and organic wheat.
In addition, an area is grown each year with a green manure, such as vetches and mustard, in order to feed the soils where the root crops have previously been planted.

In 2006, Keith won the Soil Association’s Organic Grower of the Year Award, just five years after taking his farm into full conversion.
